Instrumental Lessons and WCIT

At Lancs we have a number of visiting music teachers who teach one-to-one and small group instrumental lessons. Currently we provide lessons on the following instruments:

  • Piano
  • Drum Kit
  • Guitar

However, we can also provide lessons on the following instruments, when there are sufficient numbers applying to do so:-

  •  Guitar (Acoustic, Bass and Electric)
  •  Clarinet
  • Saxophone
  • Trumpet

If you would like to sign your child up for instrumental lessons, please contact use the following link to make an application:-

If you would like your child to learn an instrument that is not listed above, please contact the school as this may be possible to arrange.

At Lancs, every child is taught to play an instrument in Year 4. This is thanks to Haringey Music Service's WCIT program. Pupils have a total of 75 minutes of group tuition a week with specialist tutors. They are also provided with an instrument to take home and practice, all free of charge.

Currently, pupils are learning Violin, Viola and Cello.

In year 5, approximately 12 pupils in each class are chosen to continue on their instrument. They then receive 30 minutes of group tuition a week provided by our WCIT tutors.

If you would like your child to continue learning their instrument in Year 6, you will need to complete a Continuation Form, these are available from the school office. You can also apply directly to Haringey Music Service.
